Details Make the Difference: The Human-Centered Design Philosophy Behind Tivaro Electric Wheelchairs
In the electric wheelchair industry, "mobility" is a basic requirement, while "human-centered design" is the true measure of product excellence. Tivaro has always believed that a great electric wheelchair must not only solve the problem of "being able to move," but also address "moving comfortably, moving safely, and moving with dignity." This philosophy permeates every detail of our product design.
Starting from the user's perspective to solve core pain points is the foundation of Tivaro's human-centered design. Through visits to thousands of families with mobility-impaired members, we discovered that "difficult operation" is the biggest obstacle for many elderly users. In response, Tivaro simplified all control logic, concentrating core functions into a single detachable one-handed joystick with clear buttons and responsive feedback. Even users with poor vision or limited hand mobility can easily identify operations through touch. Additionally, we designed the joystick with multi-angle adjustment capabilities, allowing users to customize the position according to their seating preferences, further enhancing operational comfort.

Comfort is embedded in every detail that touches the body. Tivaro electric wheelchair seats use medical-grade breathable mesh fabric that combines breathability with support, effectively preventing heat and perspiration even in hot summer weather. The backrest conforms to the natural curve of the spine with built-in flexible support padding to reduce lower back pressure, preventing fatigue during extended use. The adjustable footrests not only move up and down but also slide forward and backward to accommodate users of different heights, allowing legs to relax naturally. Furthermore, the product includes provisions for storage bag attachments, phone holder mounts, and other details to meet users' daily travel needs.
Human-centered design is also reflected in adaptation to special scenarios. Considering situations users may encounter such as ramps, elevators, and narrow passages, Tivaro optimized the wheel steering system with a minimum turning radius of just 55cm, enabling flexible navigation in tight spaces. The drive wheels feature large-diameter rubber tires that increase ground friction, preventing slippage on inclines and enabling controlled descent on declines. The product also supports dual electric and manual mode switching—in case of power loss or special circumstances, it can be pushed manually, completely eliminating users' travel concerns.
Every refined detail represents deep listening and response to user needs. Tivaro uses human-centered design as a bridge to merge technology with warmth, making every electric wheelchair a reliable travel companion for its users.
